WHAT WAS REQUESTED
A customer had just moved into a brand new build where we had first fixed for a house builder we work for and this builder regularly recommends our services to the buyers to configure their system to the cabling design we installed at first fix, so all AV sources were not on show. AV sources we refer to these as sky boxes, CCTV, Apple TV, DVD players etc. All that was left was just TV installations to walls and Sonos sound bars for multiroom audio and improving sound quality. We installed all AV sources into a bedroom cupboard space with an AV rack so all equipment is kept nice and neat.
The hard work for this job was done when the house was first built allowing us to put the correct cables into the house to for all AV sources to be hidden in one place with no cables on show in any room. On this specific install we used the following products to allow the customer to watch 4K sky on all TVs and control the system via a phone or tablet. Each TV was wired with a coax cable and two cat 6 cables. The coax was used for terrestrial Freeview signal, which we installed with a new 4G filtered digital aerial in the loft alongside a UHF distribution amp to serve every coax outlet in the property. The two cat 6 cables we’re used for the following: 1st cat6 cable was for date, this is so the TVs we’re hardwire connection to the router network switch so streaming is seamless without interference from WIFI. As a rule in AV we like to use WIFI for only phones, tablets and laptops. We like to hardwire as much as possible that allows a LAN connection. The 2nd cat6 cable is for our HDMI distribution system, on this specific install we used a HD Anywhere matrix. This allowed 4 TVs to view the following, 2 Sky Q boxes, CCTV and Apple TV at each screen all using just 1 cat6 cable. This is also controlled via a tablet or phone to select what you would like to view at each source or to control the AV source, this is via the HD Anywhere UControl App.
We then wall mounted the TVs using Sanus wall mounted brackets, two flat wall mounts and one that is for the recess TV which is a scissor bracket this allows us to pull forward and push TV back with ease.
Each TV then had a Sonos sound bar and wireless subwoofer in each room to allow us to improve the sound quality of the tv massively offering a 3.1 sound. Using the monsoon system this also allows just audio to be played through the system, with is also set up to allows all rooms to be grouped to play same sound or individually in each room.
TVs all mounted to the wall, no cabling on show at all or no AV source on show in any room. Also multirroom audio without any speaker cables running to each speaker. A seamless and effective system for a very clean room finish.
